Drapers Top 100 2017 – 30. Liz Evans, chief executive, Oasis and Warehouse

Ithas been a busy year for Liz Evans, but throughout it she has maintained her focus and continued to grow and develop Warehouse and Oasis. The two retailers and sister business Coast were put up for sale by administrators for Icelandic bank Kaupthing in November 2016, but after nearly a year of talks, the process stalled in October.

Despite this going on in the background and a tough trading environment, Evans has maintained growth at Oasis. In its latest full-year results to 28 February, sales were up 2.4% to £160.1m. Following a relaunch in September 2016, Warehouse’s sales struggled in comparison, and were down 12.9%. But Evans was optimistic that the foundations have now been laid for its future growth.

Evans is now spearheading a push to open 24 new stores and concessions across the three brands in Europe and the UK in its 2017/18 financial year.
