Breaking into the top 10 for the first time this year is Missguided group CEO Nitin Passi, who has reigned over another stellar year at the fast fashion etailer. The numbers speak for themselves: revenue jumped 75% to £206m in the 12 months to March, and international sales rocketed by 130%. A store at Kent’s Bluewater shopping centre opened in June and a collaboration with toy icon Barbie proved a hit with customers.
Missguided’s ability to lure some heavy hitters into senior roles has also helped to propel Passi up the list. The retailer has bolstered its leadership team to put it in the best position for growth. Former Shop Direct deputy chief executive Gareth Jones joined as online CEO in September. Following close behind was Jonathan Wall, Shop Direct’s chief digital officer, who took up the same role at Missguided in October.
Never one to sit still, Passi has been working on his menswear label, Mennace, this year. A capsule collection launched on Asos in December last year and a standalone brand website followed in September.
Passi has also scored a hat-trick of Drapers Awards this year: Best Digital Leader at the Drapers Digital Awards, and Best Fashion Marketing Campaign and Best Store Design under 2,000 sq m at the Drapers Awards.
