Barbour is opening a second store for its sub-brand Barbour International in London’s Canary Wharf in April.
The 18,300 sq ft store, which will open early next month, will be located in the new extension of Jubilee Place. The shop will showcase knitwear, trousers, footwear and accessories from the brand’s premium Barbour International range.
In November the British heritage brand Barbour opened the sub-brand’s first store, under a 10-year lease in central London. The 3,000 sq ft store occupies two floors in St James’s Gateway, situated between Piccadilly and Jermyn Street.
National sales and marketing director Ian Beattie said: “[Canary Wharf] shopping mall has become a major retail destination and our store is in an excellent location to showcase our Barbour International clothing collections. Motorcycle clothing is just as important to Barbour’s heritage as country clothing and it offers an alternative to those customers who like the biker look and style while still retaining all of the special qualities that make it a Barbour garment.”
Separately, Barbour announced yesterday it was teaming up with Adidas Originals for a limited edition collection of clothing and footwear for autumn 14. The British heritage brand will work with the Adidas team to create products that “combine modernity with tradition reflecting the best of both brands”.
The collection will go into selected Adidas and Barbour retail stores and wholesale accounts across the world from October 2014.
