Instagram launches TV video app

Instagram has launched a new platform which allows people to watch videos of up to an hour long. 

Named IGTV, the mobile-first video format is designed to show vertical videos at full screen.

According to the social network, businesses can boost their profile in three ways; by being an early adopter of the technology, getting closer to their audience via longer videos, and leveraging their online community as well as Instagram’s own 800 million accounts.

Monetising and advertising opportunities within the IGTV will not be available until the fourth quarter of 2018.
