Andrew Jennings joins Dutch retailer Hema as chairman

Ted Baker non-executive director and former Karstadt Group chief executive Andrew Jennings has been appointed chairman of Dutch discount chain Hema.

Prior to the three years he spent at Karstadt, to December 2013, Jennings held a number of senior executive positions at retailers including Saks Fifth Avenue in the US, Harrods and House of Fraser in the UK and Brown Thomas in Ireland. 

In addition to his role at Ted Baker, he is a senior retail advisor to Myer Department Stores in Australia and Majid Al Futtaim Ventures in the Middle East.

Managing director of supermarkets and petrol for Woolworths Australia Tjeerd Jegen will become chief executive of Hema from April 13, replacing Ronald van Zetten.
