Burberry, Gucci, Versace and Givenchy are among the host of luxury labels, which have signed up for units in the The Croydon Village Outlet, which will open on Thursday (September 19).
Situated 15 minutes from central London, Croydon Village Outlet aims to become “the Harrods of the South East” and Drapers can reveal that labels including Burberry, Ralph Lauren, Hugo Boss, Givenchy, D&G, YSL, Kenzo, Chloe, Fendi, Diesel, Kurt Geiger and Oscar de la Renta have signed up to the outlet.
Managing director at the centre Marco Cash said the menswear section is already “heavily oversubscribed”. He said: “We have been overwhelmed by the number of international brands wanting space within the outlet, but we also want to support British brands and manufacturers who due to the economic climate wish to sell at vastly lower prices direct to customers.”
The discount retail centre is taking over the 530,000 sq ft site a year after the Croydon department store Allders closed making it the UK’s largest outlet centre.
The centre will be opened by The Only Way is Essex star Harry Derbidge, who has chosen the outlet on the former Allders site to launch his own clothing collection Harry’s World.
