Fashion sales at John Lewis edged up by 0.7% for the week to 11 August, according to the retailer’s latest figures.
Womenswear had the stand out performance for the week, rising by 7.3%, with own-brand womenswear rising by 4.5% driven by soaring demand for the Kin range, which rose by 67%.
The fashion sales figures are a turnaround compared to the previous two weeks, which had seen sales fall due to the UK heatwave’s impact on customer visitor numbers.
Overall sales were down 1.8% for the week across John Lewis, however electrical sales rose, with sales of vacuum cleaners jumping 47% compared to 2017.
