John Lewis has appointed Michael Herlihy as its partnership secretary, joining on 16 April.
Herlihy indirectly replaces Keith Hubber, who held the position of general counsel and left in January after three years at the retailer.
Previously, Michael spent 26 years in a variety of roles at Imperial Chemical Industries. These included group taxation controller, general counsel and executive vice-president, mergers and acquisitions.
He has also held various non-executive roles including senior independent director at Imperial Brands.
Sir Charlie Mayfield, chairman of the John Lewis Partnership, said: “This new title reflects the responsibilities Michael will take on for the duties previously carried out by Keith Hubber in the role of general counsel, leading both the legal directorate and company secretariat.”
