Social media platform Pinterest has today introduced new shopping pins that link directly to product pages on retailer’s sites.
The new product pins appear in the home feed, search and related pins sections, and testing has already shown a 40% monthly increase in clicks to retailers.
Responding to customer feedback, the site has introduced dynamic pricing and stock information so that users don’t land on bad links or find products out of stock once they click through.
Users will also now be able to discover style ideas related to pins they’ve saved through the recently launched “more ideas” tab.
Pinterest hopes that “bringing together an environment where people come wanting to engage with brands, with personalized recommendations and easy discovery, is the best way to help shoppers and retailers find value.”
