The British Fashion Council has announced it is partnering with luxury retailer Browns on its Newgen initiative.
Newgen supports emerging designers with financial support, showcasing opportunities and critical business skills to help them build global brands.
Browns will sit on the Newgen judging panel and provide business and retail expertise through mentoring sessions for designers.
The London-based retailer opened on South Molton Street in 1970 and was the first retailer to introduce brands such as Ralph Lauren and Calvin Klein to the UK. Browns has already shown support to Newgen local talent, with Supriya Lele and Paria Farzaneh launching in store this year.
Newgen sponsorship is awarded annually to women’s and menswear designers who show at London Fashion Week and London Fashion Week Men’s.
