House of Fraser’s Manchester store will close in January.
A spokesman for House of Fraser said: ”We have suggested various options to the landlord that would have enabled us to save the store in Manchester. Sadly, these have been declined. We are now in consultation with staff about the fact that the store faces closure in the New Year.”
The Manchester branch will be the latest in a series of closures for House of Fraser after Sport’s Direct’s Mike Ashley bought it in a pre-pack administration deal on 10 August.
HoF branches in Cirencester, Shrewsbury, Hull, Swindon, Edinburgh and Exeter are also understood to be closing.
