British direct-to-consumer slipper brand Mahabis has launched a wholesale arm, on the back of a new partnership deal with US department store Nordstrom.
As part of the agreement, Nordstrom will stock the slippers across 50 of its stores in the US.
Mahabis is debuting its wholesale offering with its autumn 17 collection, taking forward orders for spring 18. It will exhibit at Milan trade show Micam in February.
The business said it has sold more than half a million pairs of slippers directly to customers to date, in more than 100 countries.
Dan Gyves, who is also non-executive chairman at the British Footwear Association, joined the business last month as sales director.
He told Drapers: “Wholesale [is] an important next step in development [at] Mahabis. We see wholesale as broadening the brand’s appeal, consumer touch points and exposure while establishing a strong and loyal base for further growth.”
The slippers’ design features a detachable sole. Its wholesale prices start at £31.50.
