Mulberry to launch Asia division

Mulberry is launching a new Asian business in partnership with Singapore billionaire Christina Ong, who has a 56% stake in the British luxury accessories and ready-to-wear brand through her company, Challice.

Mulberry Asia will begin trading on 3 April, initially with four stores – two in China, one in Hong Kong and one in Taiwan, the Daily Mail reported.

Ong and her husband will control 40% of Mulberry Asia.

Thierry Andretta, chief executive of Mulberry, said: “Mulberry Asia enables us to advance our international strategy of developing the brand in a key luxury market.”
