Ralph Lauren hires new digital chief

Ralph Lauren has appointed Burberry’s director of digital marketing and social media, Alice Delahunt, as its new chief digital officer.

Delahunt joins in April and will report into CEO Patrice Louvet.

She will be responsible for growing the company’s global digital platforms and improving digital experience for consumers across all channels to drive consumer acquisition, retention, value and revenue.

“We are moving urgently to expand our digital presence all over the world and bringing in the right senior talent to help us deliver,” said Louvet. “We have to meet consumers where they are, which is increasingly online, and digital expansion is one critical way we will drive new growth for our iconic business and brand.”

The company has also appointed new senior leaders to support its ecommerce growth globally. Laura Porco has been appointed senior vice-president, ecommerce, for Ralph Lauren North America. She previously ran ecommerce for Ralph Lauren’s Club Monaco brand.

Galen Hardy will take on the role of senior-vice president, Club Monaco ecommerce and business operations, joining the company from Zappos, where he oversaw clothing merchandising.

Valeria Juarez will assume the role of senior vice-president, ecommerce, international. She was previously senior vice-president, ecommerce, EMEA at the business for 12 years.
