Yoox hires chief information officer from Asda

Italian etailer Yoox has appointed former Asda multichannel technology director Alex Alexander as chief information officer, with immediate effect.

Alexander, who was multichannel IT director at Sainsbury’s between 2008-10, joins from Walmart, where he spent three years managing Asda’s omnichannel strategy including its click-and-collect roll-out.

In a statement, Yoox, which announced a merger with Net-a-Porter in March, said Alexander will use technology to support its “growing business needs”.

Founder and chief executive Federico Marchetti said: “As [chief information officer], Alex will play a pivotal role in ensuring technology continues to be a key pillar of our competitive advantage by supporting and driving future growth as well as enhancing our cross-channel offering for our brand partners globally.”
