Brian brick, ceo, moss bros
Moss Bros has had a good year. As part of ongoing plans to modernise the business, which is now the third-largest suit retailer in the UK, chief executive Brian Brick has worked hard to strengthen its brand identity, modernise stores and develop ecommerce. Improvement in customer conversion and higher average transaction values have helped online sales grow 7.7% in the year to 30 July 2016.
Sales in general are looking healthy, increasing up 4.9% and pre-tax profit is up 30% to £3.7m. Around 90 of Moss Bros’s 125 stores have been refurbished during 2016 and the remainder are set to be redone in the new year. The retailer has also rolled out its “Tailor Me” personalisation service to all of its stores.
In December, it announced it was investing millions in its suit hiring operation, rebranding it as clothing “rental”.
