From the age of 13, Rohan Bassi took a keen interest in his family’s business, menswear brand and supplier The Duke Clothing Company. During weekends and school holidays, he visited the office and getting involved in anything he could, from attending supplier meetings to packing orders in the warehouse. He joined the business full time the day after he finished his economics course at Manchester University.
While studying, Bassi spent time in every part of the business. He quickly realised his skills lay in sales, design and purchasing. Turnover has increased by 60% since he joined as a director in 2013, driven by new relationships with Asos, Boohoo and M&M Direct. Duke Clothing’s specialism in -size clothing has made it instrumental in the launch of menswear ranges with Asos, Boohoo and Zalando – a key achievement for Bassi.
