Brand showcase: Aqua Sphere

Aqua Sphere is an innovative swimming brand aimed at the active regular fitness swimmer. Part of the highly respected Aqua Lung International group of companies, a leading global designer and manufacturer of diving and water sports gear, Aqua Sphere was created in Genoa, Italy, and is now a premier swimming equipment manufacturer.

With the launch of its cutting-edge Seal Mask in 1998, the company set the industry standard and quickly became known as the goggle guru. Today it continues to innovate with a complete range of premium products for men, women and children, including goggles, swimwear, triathlon wetsuits and aquatic fitness training products.

Its designs have gained the respect and loyal following of many celebrities and athletes, including swimming legend Michael Phelps, with whom Aqua Sphere has recently collaborated to create the MP swimming brand. MP is aimed at the more competitive pool swimmer, whereas Aqua Sphere’s customer is the regular pool and open-water swimmer. Both have distinct, strong identities.

Innovation is at the heart of all product lines. Aqua Sphere’s regular swimmers still want – and deserve – long-lasting performance and comfort, so the company blends exciting technological fabric innovations with a choice of construction features to suit swimmers of all abilities and objectives. Whether his or her goal is stay fit or lose weight or just to enjoy regular swimming, Aqua Sphere is the brand for the #TrueSwimmer, and has just invested in a global digital and print marketing campaign to promote this ethos. For women, some styles start at size 30 and some go up to size 46, so Aqua Sphere is an inclusive and accessible brand.

New fabric technology is vital to Aqua Sphere’s development process, but it does not impose a price premium for this innovation. Aqua Sphere’s chlorine-resistant Aqua Infinity swimwear effectively meets the demands of the regular pool swimmer by offering an exceptionally high level of chlorine resistance, boasting pool performance of more than 200 hours.

This month (March 2017), in recognition of the fact swimmers want long-lasting resilience and comfort along with eco-friendly credentials, Aqua Sphere has launched a capsule swimwear collection called Repreve, which is made from recycled plastic bottles – six are used in every women’s swimsuit. This super-resilient, environmentally friendly swimwear not only helps to save the planet but also delivers excellent chlorine resistance and factor 50 sun protection. Extremely stylish as well as eco-conscious, prices for the line are still competitive and the three women’s one-piece swimsuits are only £31.99 SRP. Men’s jammers and boys’ and girls’ swimwear complete the Repreve launch collection.

For the competitive swimmer, Michael Phelps brings his experience at the highest level to help create MP technical swim products. MP training swimwear is hot on performance but also gloriously vivid and bright – its latest bold graffiti prints for men and women are pure Phelps and will be real head-turners in any display.
