Drapers rounds up the brands to note from the autumn 18 edition of Jacket Required.

Watershed

Making its trade show debut, Cornish independent Watershed is launching wholesale for its own brand for autumn 18. The surf-inspired independent has two stores in Newquay and Falmouth, and is now on the hunt for its first stockists. The men’s and women’s wear is all made in the UK. The collection is inspired by 1970s Venice Beach surfers, and includes distressed denim jackets, raglan logo T-shirts and rugby shirts.

Prices range from £16 for a T-shirt to £38 for a distressed denim jacket.

Timberland

As interest in 1990s streetwear booms, Timberland has brought a more urban, heritage logo-heavy spin to its design. Elements of this new look have been trialled for three seasons, but autumn 18 is the first full wholesale collection for the new, more youthful direction. With graphic branding on hoodies, T-shirts, tracksuit trousers and pullover tops, the collection is bold and eye-catching

Loreak

Formerly Loreak Mendian, the San Sebastian label is relaunching as Loreak for autumn 18. The new range features simple, classic designs, such as striped tops and heavy-knit jumpers. Alongside the main collection of men’s and women’s wear, the brand is launching a Black Label premium line using higher-quality fabrics. Key items in the main line include a heavy padded camel coat and cosy hoodie.

Jago

Launching at wholesale at Jacket Required, outerwear brand Jago already counts TV adventurer Bear Grylls as a customer. Its jacket style is hand made in the UK in Ventile – a waterproof 100% cotton fabric worn by RAF pilots and explorers – and comes in three colours: a trend-led orange, navy and olive green.

Oli x Oliver

Footwear brand Oli x Oliver launched in December 2017. Its high-quality, casual men’s shoes are made in Portugal, each from a single piece of leather with minimal stitching, and aim to give a more ergonomic fit. Highlights include a high-top in tan, navy and black and a technical trainer.

LangerChen

Sustainable outerwear brand LangerChen makes coats and jackets from organic, sustainable materials. Designs are structured and rigid and fabrics include Techno Felt, made from 100% pure new wool and lined with 100% organic cotton. A highlight for autumn 18 is the chunky, All-Natural black parka, which has pure new wool padding and woollen fake fur trims. Rainwear features colour blocking and taped seams. The brand has a strong base of stockists across Germany and the Netherlands, and is launching wholesale in the UK for autumn 18.

Sprayway

Manchester-based outdoor brand Sprayway was founded in 1974, and makes high-performance outerwear for climbers. For autumn 18, the brand is launching its first lifestyle collection, aimed at a more casual, everyday wearer – following the trend for wearing high-performance outerwear as leisurewear. The range maintains the brand’s performance qualities but is more urban in design. It includes a parka and quilted down-filled jackets.

Suit

Danish menswear brand Suit is relaunching for autumn 18, and is looking for a new agent promote it in the UK. The brand creates trend-led separates for mixing and matching as an “everyday uniform”. Corduroy was key for the season: a thick-ribbed shirt and trouser set came in ochre and navy, and an emerald green jacket was lined in fake shearling. The brand is also launching its first sustainable collection, made from recycled and organic materials.

DL x JPN

Dead Legacy debuted its premium, Japanese inspired sub-brand DL X JPN at Jacket Required. The brand was exclusively available in Sweden for spring 18, but is open for UK orders for the coming season. Styles are made with premium fabrics, and feature Japanese slogans and prints on pared-back separates. Highlights include a fleece hoodie and a lightweight navy jacket.

Rolla’s

Australian denim brand Rolla’s is launching a capsule collection in collaboration with contemporary artist Reg Mombassa for autumn 18. Mombassa’s loud and vivid work is printed on lightweight shirts and denim jackets. In a throwback to the 1990s, its seasonal range will also debut clothing made with heat-sensitive that changes colour in different temperatures.

Eat Dust

Belgian clothing brand Eat Dust is expanding its womenswear offering for autumn. Sub-brand Girls of Dust is launching women’s knitwear with cardigans made with wool blends in boxy fits. The range takes its inspiration from vintage Japanese and French workwear, and geometric patterns allude to its “American Dreamer” theme for the season.
