Irisa HQ will shut as Jacques Vert merges offices

Jacques Vert will merge its team based at the former Irisa Group headquarters in Luton with its head office staff in London.

The move, which will affect up to 180 staff at the mainstream womenswear business, follows the merger of the two companies by private equity owner Sun European Partners earlier this year.

The merger is also understood to have prompted discussions around streamlining the fascias run by the combined business because many, such as Jacques Vert’s petite brand Precis and Irisa’s Minuet, duplicate each other.

Jacques Vert’s other fascias include Planet and Windsmoor, while Alexon, Ann Harvey, Dash and Kaliko were part of the now-defunct Irisa.

Jaques Vert was unable to comment on the speculation regarding the streamlining of the fascias, but did confirm the closure of the Luton office following a three-month consultation.

Although the exact location has yet to be confirmed, Jacques Vert’s existing HQ in Islington is understood to be the preferred choice.

Any relocation of the Luton team is not expected to take place until early next year, with the business now entering a further consultation period with staff.

Jacques Vert declined to comment on how many employees it expected to take redundancy, but a source close to the situation told Drapers it did not expect the majority to relocate.

The news comes just one week after Jacques Vert announced its deputy chief executive Jane McNally was stepping down. McNally was Irisa Group chief executive before the merger.
