Team WGSN Boutique is nearing the end of its mini roadshow, at which we presented the trends we feel will be taking the high street by storm this autumn and our predictions for S/S 12.
We also gave some insights into the themes that are emerging in visual merchandising and windows on a global basis and how savvy indies can tap into them without breaking the bank.
Our travels so far have taken us to London, Bristol and Harrogate and the next stop is Manchester on the evening of June 6, when we will be hosted by the Manchester Fashion Network (visit www.manchesterfashion.com to find out more). We’re expecting a good turnout thanks to the pull of this highly influential fashion networking and support organisation.
What has struck me about some of the indies we’ve met on our travels is that the most successful ones - and we had some of the UK’s best come along - are always thirsty for knowledge and inspiration. I was concerned that some of our content may be too forward-looking for some attendees but, as one told me, it couldn’t be far enough ahead, as she wanted to be the first to break new trends and brands.

Of course, while simultaneously looking ahead, you have to keep one eye on the here and now, hence we bring you the autumn trends on these pages with tips on how to buy into them at the last minute.
